Walk-A-Thon 2011 for Santa Clara Christian School

It has been so long since I have posted Cash's escapades. But this one is definitely worth posting.

We moved to California on September 6th. I found this cute little school in Santa Clara, not too far from where our corporate housing is located. Cash goes to the PreK class 3 days a week and is making friends. He seems to really like his class and teachers.

Friday, his school had their fundraiser. It was a walk-a-thon. I was actually really impressed how cute it was and well run. I of course, got teary-eyed just watching these sweet children were so excited and determined to be doing their walk. Cash of course prayed the night before that he would walk 40 laps. That was his goal. A valiant effort, he did 39 laps with minimal complaints. In fact, it wasn't till about lap 37 that he asked me to carry him. I told him I would hold his hand but that it would be cheating if I carried him.  On our way we talked about all the wonderful friends and family that sponsored Cash. It kept us going and on our mission.  Thank you everyone!

Here are some pictures from the awesome morning!

The line up- with their game face

Out of the gates, here they come!

Here is Cash (2nd from right) with his class and teacher Ms. Beck.

The walk-a-thon quickly became a run-a-thon for the first few laps

here's our little runner!

After 15 laps punched on the lanyard, he got an icee- pop

After 25 laps, they got an snow cone break

then the kids were given some creative freedom to go get face painting and hair colors.

As you can see - it was a fun day! Cash had a great time and actually took at nap at school afterwards.
