He wanted a popsicle before dinner, I said he could have one after dinner. Tears ensued. I served him some pasta with spaghetti sauce, grilled cheese, and some baby cubed carrots. He at the grilled cheese and wouldn't try anything else.
He asked for his popsicle. I said he had to try one cubed carrot. One piece is the size of my nail. He put it in his mouth, I said swallow it. He spit it out and said I want a popsicle. I told him no because he didn't eat his carrot. He started to cry. (I am cruel but it was so dramatic I kind of laughed) but then he kept crying and was drooling profusely and said his tongue hurt. I had to try a carrot myself to see if there were razor blades or something in them that caused his tongue to hurt. That was how dramatic he was. I really thought something was wrong. He said kiss it - through his tears and red face. I did. I didn't offer a popsicle. But I gave him a spoonful of frozen yogurt. He took it. I went into the kitchen and he called to me. Mom- I need more ice cream because it makes it feel better. I told him - no. And I took him up to bed. I can't believe he had all that drama in hopes to get a popsicle. He even drooled like it was life threatening.
If I start this blog it would have to be about Cash

Easter Egg Hunt
Our neighborhood had our Easter Egg Hunt.
Here is Cash with his batman bucket. Enjoying the morning.
But he didn't like the Easter Bunny. Wanted nothing to do with him. In fact when he got there he said he was ready to go home. We stayed anyway. The closest he got was a high five. So, doesn't like costumed .... Santa and doesn't like the costumed Easter Bunny

my lollipop
I picked Cash up from school on Friday and he ran up to me and put his arms around my leg and gave me a hug and told his teacher, this is my mommy, she's my lollipop! What a nice term of endearment.

Cash & Joshua
This week was spring break and on Monday we went to the rodeo. Actually we just went to the kids carnival area and joined Joshua- Cash's really good friend. Here are some picture of boys being boys.... They had a farm ville set up where the boys followed the process of farming. Starting with empty baskets and then as they planted seeds and crops grew, and fed their animals, and milked the cows, they brought their goods to the store and received money for their farming efforts. It is really cute.
Shipley's
This just cracks me up. His expression of pure joy and excitement as he takes a big bite of the donut hole. This is our Saturday family tradition. Dad and Cash walk over to Shipley's and I order the breakfast Taco's at El Rey.

Are you a girl?
So the other day we were driving to Home depot and Cash and I were talking away... Well- I suppose I was doing all the talking. I was telling him he could be whatever he wanted to be when he grew up.... a swimmer, a painter, an architect, an engineer, a musician, a rocker, a drummer, a fireman, a lawyer, a doctor... I went on... and once I said Doctor he said I want to be a Doctor. And I said, a doctor, do you know what a doctor is and he said Dr. Chia. And then he asked me, Mom are you a girl? and I said, Yes I am a girl, and he asked "can I touch your boobies?". And I was taken a back and looked back at him in the back seat and he started giggling.... Like he knew he was saying something silly.

cash on his bike!
He finally is loving his bike, He can reach the petals and he just loves going for a bike ride. It is fun! Favorite past time is riding his bike with his dad or else riding while we walk Samson. Now just to teach him, it is not fun to ride your bike into people or Samson.

Cash and his dad
Oh and Shawn got a VW bug and Cash wants to be just like him. So he got the first ride around the block with his dad. They are both so proud! I love Cash's little face peeking out the window.
Cash and his dad
I swear these two are best friends. Today we went and got ice cream after dinner and Shawn took his dish, walked by the trash can and threw it away on his way to the bathroom. Cash following in tow, walked by the trash can, had nothing to throw away but still put his hand up over the trash can and released his make believe trash, just like his dad did. And then followed him to the bathroom. It was so cute. I had to blink to confirm that I really just saw that.... Makes you realize you have to watch what you do when your son is such a parrot!

Status Update- It worked!!!
Well- I gambled and it paid off. I put Cash to bed last night by 5:45 after he fell asleep in the car at 5:00ish. And he slept till 5:30 this morning. You may think, 5:30 that is early. However- that is the time he has been waking up at anyway. And yesterday he woke at 5:00. I am excited that he essentially slept 12 hours.

no nap
Yesterday Cash didn't take a nap. We went to swim lessons. We went to the store afterwards. And on the way home he fell asleep- literally a mile from home. I brought him in, he didn't wake up. I laid him on the couch. And he stayed zonked out. I didn't quiet down. I was loud but he still slept. His dad came home, he woke him up. We tried to feed him. He was cranky and went to bed at regular bedtime. Then he awoke at 5:00am.
Today- no nap, swim lessons, store afterwards, and asleep in car within a mile from home. Today, I took him straight up to bed. Around 5:45pm. I changed him, brushed his teeth. Asked him if we wanted to go to bed or if we wanted to eat and see daddy. He wanted to go to bed. I am praying that he sleeps through the night. I will be bumming if he wakes at 3:00am. 6:00 bedtime is a gamble but I made it anyway.
I pray it works for me.

Jesus isn't stinky
Direct quote from Cash "Jesus isn't stinky"
not sure why or where it came from. But I would have to agree Jesus isn't stinky!

Eden
Today after church, the Sunday school teachers informed me Cash has a major crush on Eden. Well this is no news to me. I know my son has been fond of this little girl. He lights up when he sees her. She is sometimes coy and shy but doesn't completely dis him. What happened today was that during music, he kept inching up next to Eden. Then he put his arm around her. And then he stroked her arm. He is very fond of Eden. Here is Eden and here is a picture of the two of them together in a mock boat one day when we were playing at Eden's house.
she's a beauty!
With that blond hair I wonder if they could be twins.
6:00am
6:00am is The time I read on the clock when I opened my eyes this morning and saw Cash standing at the edge of the bed looking right in my face. I think we are working on a month now that our little boy has awakened before 6:00 am (generally the 5:00-5:30) time frame. Oh and I set my clock 10 minutes fast. Technically 5:50am. Sigh. Does he not know both of his parents are night owls?

More on Cash's swim lessons
I told you day 1 he was excited to go but cried. Day 2 he was not excited to go and cried. Day 3, he was excited to go again. On the way there, he kept saying from the back seat "we're almost there Michelle". Michelle being his teacher. Then he would say, mom I am going to blow bubbles, mom I am going to move my arms like this, mom I am going to go off the slide, mom I am going to float on my back like this, and put my hands behind my head like this. Almost there Michelle, wait for me.....
Day 4 more of the same excitement. He is coming along so well on his swim lessons. He loves the water. Maybe he will be a little swimmer. I am not such a good swimmer so I am happy he has the chance to be a good swimmer. Here are some photos from his 4th day. He is so happy!
here he is floating on his back after he got there. Look at that smile!
then Michelle made him flip as he reaches for the wall.
His favorite part- the slide.
He is in lessons with one other boy- and here they are practicing their kicking.
lastly, he is finally starting to straighten his legs when he floats. Last year they were always bent and he seemed on the verge of panic. Now he is relaxed.

Swim lessons
I have had a bug to sign Cash up for swim lessons. I finally settled on Houston Swim Club. It is indoors. 30 minutes. And once a day, every day for two weeks. When I researched the pools, I took Cash with me to see the pool and he threw a very mad fit when I tried to leave because he wanted to stay and go into the pool.
Then we started yesterday and he was so excited we were there and he couldn't wait to get into the water. And once he did and realized what Miss Michelle was going to make him do. He started crying. But he got settled and had fun. They gave him a sucker at the end and he just kept talking about it and wanted to go say goodbye to Miss Michelle.
Today we drove to lessons and on the way Cash started to say, he was sick and didn't feel good. Then we got there and he started crying when I tried to put his suit on. He said- No, can't put my suit on, no can't go swimming. He was so upset, I thought I was going to cry. So I asked the lifeguard, what do I do? They told me, go ahead and get him suited he would calm down. I did, he cried, really cried, sobbing. They took him and for the first 5 minutes, he cried as Miss Michelle had him floating on his back and going under water etc... I felt so bad for him as I watched from the observation room. But he settled. And I could see smiles on his face. And he had joy again. He emerged from the water with a big smile and got his sucker which he tried to open before I could even dry him off.
As his mom, I was so concerned for him. But we'll be back tomorrow!

spinning like crazy!
Whenever we go to the park, Cash inevitably wants to swing. He loves it. Reminds me of me when I was a little girl. Loved the swings. Soon he wont be able to fit in the baby swing. Today we were there as a family and Shawn wound up Cash in his swing and let him go. He loved it. Here is a series of photos I took linked together to make a movie. It is so funny. His expression is pure giddy!
Syndrome
From the previous post - this is one of my favorite pictures of Cash. Of course if you turn it, with that hair he could play Buddy, aka SYNDROME from the movie The Incredibles.
Bonus photo- from the movie The Incredibles, Cash could be Buddy aka: SYNDROME with that hair.
